Howdy,

I’m Nickola and strength and personal empowerment is my passion.

I know what it’s like to feel disconnected from your own body.

I was obese as a teen, and hated sports. My school exposed me to team sport, ball sports, and cardio based sports. It felt like running was a personalized form of humiliation, and functionally I had a very low quality of life.

With purpose I became driven. The lack of control or understanding behind why I looked and felt a certain way drove me to learn more. Strength training found me, much by coincidence, and with that my purpose and drive grew. Suddenly I was given another measure of my progress, worth, and strength by being able to progress in the weight room using tangable measures and numbers.

For the first time in my life I felt a cohesion between my body and mind.

While I, personally, compete in Strongman and Powerlifting, my passion is to help people feel strong, functional, and proud of themselves inside and outside the gym. Whether that comes from competing, breaking records and pushing your strength to the limit, to picking up the kids pain free. I want to help you achieve a better quality of life all round.

Most importantly, I want you to have fun, feel strong, and arm you with the knowledge to feel empowered over your own growth in life.

Hi! I’m Maz,  Powerlifting and Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Coming up to my 18th year in the Industry, I’m considered somewhat a “veteran” of the Fitness Industry!

Growing up in a very active and sporty country family, I’ve always had a passion for Fitness.   Starting out as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Netball Coach in 2005 absolutely confirmed my love for helping people achieve their goals and being a part of their journeys.

Then 4 years ago the Universe told me that after almost 14 years as an Employee, I should start my own Business.  Phoenix Power & Strength was born, and my focus would be on Strength and Conditioning Coaching for Sport.

In the 4 years since starting Phoenix, I have been a Strength and Conditioning Coach for Powerlifting, Strongman, Netball, Rowing, Cycling, Martial Arts, Triathlon, and Rugby.

My biggest passion though, is Powerlifting.

My Powerlifting Athletes have recorded 28 podium finishes.  12 National records.  And 4 World records.

I am an  accredited ZeroW Coach through the Thomas Lilley Coach Development Program. And I have Competed as an Athlete and Coached Athletes across PA, GPC, APL, and APU Powerlifting Federations.

There is nothing like the feeling of being Strong.  And to me as a Coach, there is nothing more rewarding than Coaching an Athlete to Compete in whatever sport they choose.

Adam Choraziak

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Hi there!

My name’s Adam and I’m a strength and conditioning coach. My focus is on helping people new to the gym and to weight training, who might feel confused or overwhelmed by the sheer amount of advice out there. I aim to simplify things through a science-based approach so you can reach your goals and feel great in your body.

I started my journey—like many—as a skinny, shy and unconfident kid. All I wanted was to get a little bigger so that I might fit into some proper adult clothes instead of having to shop at Jay Jays for small enough jeans. Training gave me the autonomy that allowed me to love who I was while getting stronger every week (and I eventually did get some adult clothes).

I’ve helped many people learn how to express their strength and build muscle in a safe and engaging way. Those same people now have skills that they will carry with them for life.

I want to help you become the best version of yourself. Interested? Get in touch.

ASHLEY HALL (ASH)

6 Weeks to Stronger Coach

My name is Ash,

I started this about 3 years ago, a clueless girl that had never lifted a weight let alone been in a gym.

I was determined to change unhealthy eating habits and substance abuse that drastically affected my mental health and weight (lowest 36kg), which forced this change. As much as this as been a physical journey it has been a mental one just as much. Since starting this journey i’ve gained 20kilos.

Finding Leviathan Strength in September 2021 showed how much I love strength training, I have since competed in powerlifting and strongman competitions. The gym has become my safe space and I can’t wait to help make that difference for other people.

I currently run group strength classes at leviathan and have found it so rewarding watching my coaching help others and seeing them reach goals, whether that be with strength, weight or confidence in the gym.

Ella has been a personal trainer for 4 years now. She initially focussed on martial arts and unconventional training but has spent the last 3 years refining her skills in rehab specific and strength training as she started competing in powerlifting and strongman herself.

Ella's main focus is helping people enjoy their training. She believes that if people enjoy their training then they will get more out of it.

Training should be a celebration of your body not a chore.
